Sugarcoat
10 CRT TV installation (Super 8 Footage), mini DV tape, rotating globe, wine, cake icing, multicoloured sprinkles
720X480
2010

This is a multichannel video installation featuring myself in a series of performative scenarios—rapidly moving my eyes side to side from behind my fingers, unraveling video tape, and being coated in cake icing and sprinkles. Shot on super 8 film, each scene is reflexive of how the aftermath of sexual assault impacted my body and mind. 'Sugarcoat' is my first exploration and investigation into the way performative gesture and material engagements with the body could be used to poetically evoke my own traumatic experience.
